“Then Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, which is opposite Jericho, and the Lord showed him the whole land:..” Deut.34:1
As we stand poised at the door of this New Year, ready to embark on all that awaits us as a community of believers, let us keep in mind the entire gift that God has shown us. Freedom, opportunity, and possibilities have been granted us through Jesus Christ. Therefore be not afraid. Trust in God. Know that he has begun a good work in us and will carry it on to completion, until the day of Jesus Christ. So walk this journey as in a parade. Blow your horn, sound your trump, beat your drum, and wave your banner, giving praise to Almighty God. For this is the day that he has created for just such a purpose! – Rev. Ralinda Golback, Pastor
“How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts!”
God has blessed First Colored Wesley Methodist Church
to be in his service for 190 years. In retrospect the journey was hard at times but God has always made a way for his church. The faithfulness of our predecessors, blessed by God, more than compensated for scarcity of resources; people, money, sound place of worship and anything else that suggests, something which furthers the cause of Christ is beyond reach.
This legacy of faithfulness is the gold standard for every generation of God’s church . God has blessed us spiritually and materially and positioned present day Wesley to meet the challenges of today’s world.
